Grasshopper Haulage Engine
« on: April 11, 2018, 01:05:07 AM »
This is the Grasshopper Haulage Engine designed by Stewart Hart. All dimensions were converted from metric to imperial. FINALLY - with a lot of fiddling - this engine runs. I also made the regulator just to see if I could - it is right cute and works good. Pictures include miscellaneous parts, engine, regulator and regulator parts. Would also like to make the whistle. Will now attempt to dress it up a bit. Will post a video next.

That's a beauty Larry. Stew has some great designs. Sorry we didn't get together this year in Pendleton, it was nice having that show close by.

Thanks Stew. The flywheel (FWC-1CI) is available from P.M. Research,Wellsville, NY (USA). They have a web site. These are used on their Steam Drilling Engine casting kit.

Thanks everyone. I certainly appreciate your comments.

Bill-
I miss Pendleton too. It was a nice little show and an easy one day drive. You need to start one in Charlotte / Dallas with compressed air - I would come. I grew up in Hickory, NC not too far from you.
