A little hello from Namibia
« on: July 19, 2012, 08:27:00 PM »
I don't quite know how to introduce myself to the crowd here  ;)

Let's just say I'm the semi-newbie from Windhoek with a passion for building Elmer's engines and making my own bits of tooling along the way.
And writing up long, gory, boring posts.

Kind regards, Arnold

Thanks Gents  :)

Dang it Tel - the rhinos have all been poached out; we don't even have them in zoos anymore  ;)

Kind regards, Arnold

Hello Namibia!  I see your still holding down that side of the earth Arnold!   You too Tel! ;D

I'll do some posting here...give me a little bit for vacation this weekend and some work duties to clear up...Work is nuts right now.

Thanks for starting something new .....that feels old.....in a good way... ;D

Tel, you're liable to send us drop bears disguised as rhinos mate...  That won't be playing cricket; we can't import feral species  ;)

Hiya Dave  :) Yes, we're trying to hold down this bit of the earth - maybe the different angles between Tel & me and the rest of the crowd can help stabilize things; its been a bit shaky of late LOL
You've got your break bud; you've earned it  8).  It would be great if you could launch Rushforth at some point and take us a video of her under steam - that would be a win-win situation all round!

Thanks Tim  :) - Yes, welcome on board to you too ! Every time I see your avatar I'm still amazed by that engine and the base you made for it!

Thank you Kevin  :).  I'm a real sucker for punishment - aren't I ? LOL
Yes, I accepted the promotion, but I also learned a lot thanks to you  <bow down> - There will be headaches, but that's OK; I'm doing it for all model engineers and our hobby.  At least, the way things are set up here at MEM, there won't be heartaches  :)  I really hope you can get a bit of shop time now; I loved your Elmer #6 Slider build!

LOL Stew  ;D - At least you got the bit that wasn't shipped off to a far-away country to brace up floppy bits  ;) - Thanks mate !

Kind regards, Arnold
