Selection of Model Engines in Local Jewellers
« on: March 29, 2018, 05:31:44 PM »
Hi folks,

There is a nice jewellers shop in Lichfield (Staffordshire- UK) called C.C.Wheate and Sons.  It has a first floor Toy Museum and this is some museum.  It has a fantastic collection (reputed to be one of the largest private collections around) of Vintage Tin Plate Cars, Boats, Trains and Engineered models.

I have put a few pictures below of the model engine collection.  There are some beautiful motorcycle models, the engines of which I believe are working.

Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

That's my sort of jewellers shop! Do you know who made the models?

Bill,

They are very well made.  Pity they are in a glass cabinet, would be good to get a closer look, but I do understand.

Many of the tin plate cars are American 50's and 60's with long bonnets (hoods?) and tons of chrome.
