Hay Dave

Stay put inside. Let someone else clear the snow.

It only ices-up on cold, damp days

My wife and son did it today.  The neighbor down the street took care of the big pile at the end of the drive with a snowblower

Well....

I am beyond sick of snow.

Where I live is a declared disaster area from the 3/2 -3/3 storm.   We were in a State Of Emergency for over a week.  Without power for eight days.  Without cable/internet until today.  The National Guard was called in.

The first storm dropped somewhere over 20" of wet snow with high winds.  It was a hurricane with snow and my community was ground zero.  We took a direct hit.  Trees fell everywhere.  There were some homes with multiple trees that fell on them.  Emergency Management says that it was the worst storm ever for the area.  That happened Friday into Saturday.  It was followed up with a 12" storm on Wednesday into Thursday.

The first storm waged hell on our plow trucks.  Multiple broken parts.  That is another saga....

Edit: added a YouTube link that shows some of the area.  My community was hit harder.

Bless yo hearts. I hope everybody stays safe and the power stays on; the rest you can deal with and laugh about in years to come. We had about 4” of very wet and heavy snow here in Springbucket yesterday morning. It was beautiful and by noon it was 51F and all snow gone: my kind of snowfall . Y’all stay safe and sound.

:lolb: :lolb:, perfect. Do you ever wonder why in an area prone to overhead power line failures, why they always replace the damaged with more over head instead of just burying it. I accuse the lineman’s union of having something to do with here. Just a redneck POV

Looks like plenty of free firewood there  ;D Keep warm Guys.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Jason gets the snow he wants and I am sure others will offer him theirs as well

We started on putting our local power lines in the ground in my childhood and the last ones went in some 20 years ago => we hardly ever have no mains power  :praise2:

No mains power only happens here if a powerplant, transformer station or grid switch dies. I can only remember 3 times the last 30 years, where the longest was a big fire in a major transformer station and power was back on some 8 hours later.

Best wishes
