Funny looking castings for someone
« on: February 12, 2018, 07:05:24 PM »
After the best part of an hour raking about in the roof-space, I found the little buggers.

150mm x 24mm OD borosilicate tubes.  10 off.

Coming down the ladder I mis-stepped resulting in my right kneecap adopting a latitude roughly the same as my tonsils.   :ShakeHead:

Some body not far from Hampshire owes me a mug of tea and a comforting cuddle.   :naughty:

I can manage the profanities myself.  ;D

Ouch! Your feet are not supposed to trade places with your head on ladders!   :o

Were those tubes left over from your meth-lab days?  :naughty:

Do I see a Sterling build in your near future?

Hi Dave,
I live in Hampshire. You are welcome to a hot mug of tea any time your passing, but you will have to go elsewhere for your comforting cuddle :lolb:

First it is your back and now your knee, you got to look after yourself Dave  :slap: I would offer you a chocolate sticky thingy to go with your tea but as they were a Valentine gift I am not sure if I should be mentioning anything about those :embarassed:

I am not sure if they count as castings  :headscratch: but I could find a home for them and Graham has got the idea of my plans  :naughty:

Jo

P.S. While I have Chocolate Sticky things I am still hopeful for wednesday  :mischief:

Hi Troops ..  in no particular order ...

Mike.     I don't (knowingly) cuddle blokes. That's reserved for Premier League footballers and I'm way below their pay-scale. ( And a lot prettier ).

Graham.      It had occurred to me but I've got another Stirling to finish when a get one of them round things.

Chris.    No Meth. days ... I'm a rather unadventurous creature, never got beyond beer and nicotine, don't even do that now apart from e-cigs.

Jo.       Bit surprised the sticky wotsits have survived thus far ....  :headscratch:    Anyway, my knackered back has been there for some 30-odd years  :( The knee is a different tale. On several previous occasions I have gone up there in my slippers, and I've come off the loft ladder before.  Nothing new. I never learn. Pavlov wasn't always right ...

If nothing better turns up on Wednesday ... cut and paste these

Cheaper than a proper card and zero postage.

Time for a Becky & Naproxen.

Dave

PS  You are the new owner of more wood-screws ..  :whoohoo:

PPS How did jankers go today ??

Those tubes I have are some 21 - 22mm bore. ( I have a broken one, must measure it, IIRC they are a bit more than 1mm thick).

So, what's the diameter of the marbles?

Good morning Dave.

Not having my trusty Mitutoyo to hand I’m guesstimating the test tubes to be around the 20 mm mark and 150 mm long. The marbles are roughly 15 mm in diameter.

I should do a new video as the piston to bore fit has greatly improved after a few runs. It will now run flawlessly for several minutes on a cap full of Methylated spirit.

Cheers Graham.

On the “ pancakes “ front....

Just done the grandchildren American style thick ones, their favourite being Ham embedded into the batter. Once cooked liberally coated with Lyles golden syrup.

For me.... a pancake filled with smoked Bacon and a generous helping of extra mature Stilton..... heaven!

More fillings, anyone?

Cheers Graham.

Zee. You have no idea how relieved I am ...

Stuart   . Ey-up, our kid. ....   :D   You do seem to be getting some grief  :(  Hope thing improve for you soon.

Anyway, now back from a day out courtesy of the NHS, having been (in no particular order) prodded, poked, manipulated, doped up, talked about, talked over, taped up, given some more pills and sent home.
It appears I have displaced my patella. Here's me thinking I'd buggered my knee  :headscratch: Shows you just how wrong you can be  :D
So, in accordance with the instructions given by a very attractive Chinese doctor  "Not to indulge in any high impact activities and take plenty of fluids" I've given up jousting and, in the absence of any other, my interpretation of "plenty of fluids" will have to do.
Got to see them again Friday

Pancake Day ???   :headscratch:  Isn't that something to do with parachuting ??

Dave

Ah, a secret admirer then

What's the use of having a secret admirer  :noidea:

I haven't seen any castings so far  :( ...I thought I heard the door but I never made it before I heard Surus trumpeting something about having an admirer of his own and next it looked suspiciously like he was stuffing a new box into his casting cupboard

Hi Stuart

Seems a bit better  thanks.

A lot of the ratchetty feeling has gone and it isn't quite so uncomfortable.

Just keep pottering about to keep it moving. Not very quick but then I never was ...  :old:
