My good leg is 120 degrees    Im at 107 currently on the right.   working towards 120....another couple of weeks of PT and it just might.

Doc took the brace off today, and cleared me to be able to drive....which I promptly did...including a 40 MPH E stop.    I'm good to go back to work!.    It's going to be another 6 months of rehab to get back to normal....but it feels good 3 months on from surgery to be able to participate in life again!

Alright.....probably last post on this subject.

Had my probably last doctors appointment yesterday.   Doc says " I am very pleased with your recovery so far!    If this injury had happened to a pro athlete, it would have been career ending or career altering...after surgery..It would be 6 to 9 months before any type of supervised training and they're in their 20's!!!      Your healing process would have been faster if your leg was broken, or we did a knee implant, but the quad tendon is really a devastating injury, and you're about 3 months ahead of where I'd suspect you were going to be.

He says on a scale of 1 to 5....5 being "im putting a new knee in tomorrow"  my knee is about a 2.5-3.0   Arthritis from 20 year old torn ACL and medial meniscus in the Engine room on a down river trip...another story.     "but if it isn't bothering you I'd say leave it for later."     Its not bothering me...though it lets me know it's there every once in a while.

Another 3 -6 months before the tendon is completely healed, and we'll "See where we are" he says. 

The quad muscle is feeling weird sometimes when it's tired....it's like having a mild Charlie horse, that itches on the inside....it's kinda bizarre...though it gets stronger every week and will continue to do so.

Many of your have your own troubles, some far worse than I.   I didn't respond to all of them, for that I'm sorry.

I want to thank all of you for the well wishes, this was a massive ordeal for me, it was really very scary.

Glad things are ahead of schedule as far as the doctor is concerned. Hoping that will continue to improve over the next 3 months too.

Alright ....1 year update.

According to the doc, im healed....that said, im about 80% of what I used to be...its still getting stronger, and small jumps...but I don't know if it's coming back like it was.

the biggest thing was the loss of core strength.  I'm a big strong guy...this thing really knocked me on my ass...and kept me there.

My arm strength is coming back, as is my back and core.   the leg is about 80% and it's still hard to get out of a chair....standing for long periods exhausts me.

But I'll keep fighting it.

Some things just take time, and the older we get, the longer they take!! I think you are doing well for 1 year out.

Doctor said I'm doing well for a 20 year old!.....LOL.   I don't feel that at all!!!  I feel very much the cripple.

It's amazing how frail yet resilient the human body is.....
