Finally we have made it to new years eve and I am pleased to see the back of 2017  :pinkelephant: As thoughts go to the new year I find a need to think about a new year resolution  :thinking: It seems to get increasingly difficult as I seem to keep go back to ones I have tried before like:

  • I must try not to buy any more castings this year  :paranoia:
  • I must try to loose weight  :facepalm2:
  • I must stop cut down on   :wine1:
  • I must stop buying machine tools  :o
  • I must not spend as much time in my workshop  :toilet_claw: and try to take up more social hobbies  ::)

Who are you, and what have you done with the real Jo?

Very clever, Jo. I notice that this doesn't say you will buy FEWER castings  :naughty:

Hi,

My New Years resolutions are:

Finish my Beam engine;
Complete at least one engine casting (I now have two: A Stuart 10V and PM Research SO);
Reorganize my shed for the 5th time in two years;
Get a real job.

Plus all the usual family stuff.

Ben.

I have others, but from a workshop point of view:

Demolish workshop (garage)
Build new, slightly bigger workshop with insulation and a radiator (oh and some other things like a bedroom and bathroom above and a new kitchen, all less important)
Sell my lathe and buy a bigger one, and a vertical mill.

So, not much then....

I never reveal my resolutions until April 1st. By then they have either held up for ninety full days; of which I’m proud of, or failed: which gives me something to laugh about  :old:  :lolb:
