Hello

The video says it took Patelo 2520 hours to build that engine. That's 315 x 8 hour days. That's a full year of someones life.

Are you offering to pay a full years salary for a highly skilled machinist to make one just for you?

Do you want it to actually run as Patelo's engines are moved by air, they don't actually run like an IC engine, if you do add another 1000hrs to th ebill.

Oops....I think we are forgetting the drawing time too unless they are to be supplied. At least another 750 hours  ::)  I am curious as to the end use for such a model...is this for a personal collection?  Museum? Can you fill us in a bit more?

I am sure if you provided the full set of drawings someone somewhere would be willing to make it for you for around £100 an hour with a substantial payment up front and on going payments in line with time spent.  You would also have to take the time hit on any rework if the drawings have errors.

Personally I would not be interested in making one. Have you thought of learning how to build it yourself?

It took the skilled builder 2500 hrs, I probably work at 10% of his speed so that's 25,000 hrs to me.

I'm a lot less skilled than some so I'll only charge £15 per hour - so that is 15 x 25000 = £375,000

Cash up front and I'll do it for 350k  :pinkelephant:

The other post is his intro, if he is a USMC Vet chances are he is in the US, probably just not used to using forums.

The closest thing would be a Conley Stinger 609. http://www.conleyprecision.com/products.htm  The base engine costs a little over $8,000 and accessories could easily run that to over $12,000.  A test stand adds another $2,500.

Assuming the request is genuine, it's just work? Payment up front, make sure you quote enough design time. Don't forget the price of an original engine to measure and later swap into your Prius.
