Intro
« on: December 03, 2017, 10:25:23 PM »
Hi All,
I am addicted to model engines ,I am currently working on 3 different projects a Kozo A-3 switcher in 3/4 scale and an Ajax single cylinder engine and a small Marine Diesel engine.
I have some tooling  an Atlas 10F 42" A Burke #4 mill with the vertical attachment a Mini Mill2 and a Craftsman Drill press from 1957 plus a 4X6 band saw made in you know where but I purchased it from Enco in 1992. A small hand shaper 3 bullet vises a welder acy/oxy torch and gobs of mills and drills as well as other items for metal working.
I am a retired Marine Engineer and I live in Florida.
Thats about it for now glad to be onboard.
Regards
Wally G.

Hi and welcome to the forum Wally  :hi:.  Is the Ajax the one from Tiny Power? We rarely hear about them these days but I happen to have that casting kit "aging" and will get around to it in time. I think you will find a friendly and helpful group here and I look forward to your participation in the group.

Yes it is the Tiny Power Ajax, A fellow gave it to me and a lathe,he wanted the lathe out of his shop once I got it home I found out why it was broken and repaired all over the place its good for parts I guess. Its a montgomery ward lathe I think its a 10"
The Ajax engine was and is great its a challenge trying to only work from the drawing (one only)
So far the Base is done the flywheels and a few of the small parts the cross head guides etc.
I have in my collection of magazines almost all the work from Martin S Lewis from little engines, the 1/4 manual and the drawings and text for the 1/4 1/2 and 3/4 scale Pacifics.
any way I'm getting off on tangents. Thanks for the welcome.
Regards
Wally G.

Hi Wally,
Welcome to the forum!
Sounds like you've got a lot going on :)
I'd love to see some pics of your A-3.  That is currently on trajectory to be my next build and I'm getting all excited about it  :embarassed:
