Pewe ebay.de Multifix clone Parting tool holders
« on: November 18, 2017, 04:42:33 PM »
Hi,

Has anyone experience of Pewe tools Multifix tool holders? They are for sale on ebay.de

I am particular looking at the A size parting blade tool holders. I've an original multifix AT parting tool holder for a HSS blade. I haven't used it much at all on steel instead I have been using a parting tool and inserts from Greenwood tools. The "KIT-Q-CUT" and inserts has been brilliant over the last 3 years I've been using it. I probably worked it a bit hard as the trouble is I've worn it out and it no longer holds the insert securely.

I'd like to continue with insert based approach as I have a few GFN-2 inserts from a second hand job lot purchase I made a few years ago. Also, I like the idea of the minimum over hang from a tool holder designed for those standard blades. So with that in mind has anyone tried any of the 4 options Pewe offers:

Pewe Multifix A AT 1675 ebay.de item number: 381666096581, €89.99
Pewe Multifix A AT 1690 ebay.de item number: 381930755963, €89.99

Pewe Multifix A AT 2075 ebay.de item number: 381666132677, €89.99
Pewe Multifix A AT 2090 ebay.de item number: 381641282357, €89.99

The 16## apparently hold a regular 19 sized parting tool blade. The 20## hold the 26 sized parting tool blade.

I wrote to the seller to confirm the height over the top slide you need.

"you need 29mm distance between the surface of the top slide and the center of the chuck. If you don’t have…………….you must use AT1690 with a 19-2 blade and here you need 23mm

Best regards
Peter Wendlandt "

I am a fraction of a mm short of using the 2075 or 2090. So it would be the 1675 or 1690 for me.

It's an expensive purchase so any advice appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve

Peter’s tool posts are pretty good I have a smiler one on my myford and I am perfectly satisfied with it

The tool holders are the same but the cost does rack up as I have 15  :LittleAngel:

So it’s 👍👍 from me

Note these are not Swiss made but Far East made but they are hard and do fit well

Hi Steve, I am using two different sizes of PEWE tools, one very small with the Unimat SL and a bigger one with my 250x 550 lathe. I am happy with both.
Kind Regards
Achim
