Thanks Dave!  That is a neat job of hiding the ignition components in the base as well.

Are castings available for this engine? I have the Gingery book but did not want to get into the casting shown in the book. I did a search for David Perreault but did not turn up anything on casting kits available. Any links to the kit?

Hi, this is Dave Perreault..... Totally agree, Max did an AWESOME job on this Atkinson Differential Engine build....  :cartwheel:
Thanks Max

Yes, I still offer a casting kits.  The Atkinson that Max made and the second generation Atkinson my T-POT engine.
Both of these 10" flywheel engines are aluminum casting kits that come with about 80 pages of prints and pictures of the engine and the parts.
I also have made a print only package to make Mini Atkinson engines that are made of bar stock and have 4" flywheels. 80 page book.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Dave- Max's engine sure runs sweet. So often they are seen buzzing away....this one nice and slow. And yes, the Atkinson cycle uses a longer swept power stroke than the intake. The longer power stroke extracts more work from the expanding gasses. The Toyota merely closes the intake valve early or opens it late to "in effect" do a similar thing.
