Midlands Show 2017
« on: October 02, 2017, 11:35:03 AM »
The Midlands Show is not long away now. I am planning to be Chauffer driven to the show on the Thursday 19th so I can collect a set of castings    :cartwheel:

Is anyone else thinking of going?

Jo

P.S. I have been required to attend the show by my w**k as part of my recovery programme to build up my stamina for doing long journeys  :naughty:

P.P.S Surus says he is coming  :pinkelephant:

Jo,

I am looking at driving up from Hampshire on the Thursday morning and staying until Friday lunchtime.

If you need any help with carrying anything let me know and I shall see if I can find someone  :lolb:

Jo,

I should have guessed that you are not a girl who does things by halves, but always doubles or trebles .

Anyway, I look forward too seeing you at the show and providing any help that you may need.

Sounds like we have Mike Coles joining us as well on Thursday :D Any one who wants to talk Anzani's, Gnomes  or Scorpions he's your man  ;)

I was thinking we all could get together for coffee/Teas in the canteen area about 11:30 for a chin wagg  8)

Some of us will be there early in the morning as there is to be the traditional transferring 'desirable items' between cars in the car park from about 9am :-X

Planning to be there  by 9 to 9:30.  Hopefully see you, if not in car park then around 11:30 in canteen.

Hopefully want to get into the Silver Soldering session at 12.

Also planning to go on Sunday but via the Watch and Clock Fair at the National Motorcycle Museum.  Hoping to find some bits for the Aciera.

I had planned to arrive for 9 and left home at 7:25.  Plenty of time for 50 miles or so I thought.  One accident o A446  and another on M42 and everyone detouring the same direction as me.  Finally arrived at 9:45.  Not much of a queue to get in initially but very rapidly the show filled up and became very busy.

Highlight from my point of view was seeing a very nice completed Anzani 'Y' type engine on the Wolverhampton MES stand.  Took a good few pictures to try and help me with the one I am attempting to build.  The builder had taken 1 year from start to finish, my aim is somewhere around 1 decade I think.

Managed to buy some material stock for the engine and invested in a Dial co-axial Centering Alignment Indicator Metric.  A guy stood next to me wanted one, I though it a good idea and suggested we might a bit knocked of the price if one of us bought the two. It worked, saved £5 each.

Paying another visit on Sunday, hopefully a better journey.

:embarassed: ok so my Apple Crumble biscuits were all "sold out" over the day but as no one was really hungry I was forced to take the Thornton's Sticky Wotsits home with me  Thanks Dave  ;D

Surus met a few new friends and was fairly well behaved as we had given him a set of Bugl 2.5cc team race Diesel castings to fondle in his hide away as well as the apple Crumble thingies  ;). Chaos was narrowly averted when we convinced him that he needed to sit and guard the two Robinson X type casting sets in the back of the Disco while we returned to the hall and the Bugler was sold on to Jan  :wallbang: Jan is a nice guy so yes, yes I know he will do a good job of them  :)

I have photos of some of the models but it will take me time as I need to do a bit of recovery first :disappointed:. Thanks guys for joining us a lovely day. Shame about the show decreasing in size

Jo

P.S. I have been told there is another Bugl 2.5cc casting set  :-X
