Need help with sealing boiler leaks
« on: September 05, 2017, 12:52:44 AM »
I have been building a PMR vertical boiler as part of my steam powered iPhone charger project. I have gotten to the point where the boiler is soldered but I have a bunch of pin hole leaks that I can't get rid of. Every time I solder up a leak I get one somewhere else. Advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Tony

Find yourself a pin punch and gently use that with a small hammer to tap the offending pin holes closed.

Or just steam it up

Your test has proved the structure, often the small pin holes close up with heat and the lime in the water

It’s a old time fact it will not hold water but it holds steam
My aim is for a accurate part with a good finish
