Moving models up a flight of stairs...this should help
« on: August 13, 2017, 09:19:23 PM »
Not getting any younger and lugging a 70 lb model up a flight of steps is losing its glamour. So here is what I slapped together this afternoon from some 1" angle and a set of 13" mower wheels. The issue is the model bases are wide and getting though a pocket door at the top of the steps and descending steep same steps is worrisome for me. I did a similar cart for another piece of equipment which is about 120 lbs and this makes it way easier. Still have to drill some holes for hold down straps and put in a back plate to keep said models from sliding back when the cart is tipped. The paint was surplus I had lying about in a full rattle can. A piece of pipe insulation on the top handle will make grabbing it comfy.

Very nice. Yeah 70 pounds isn't fun, and probably not wise for us older folks.  ;).  Which model weighs in at 79 pounds btw?
