Hello
« on: July 07, 2017, 11:32:50 PM »
Hi Everyone,

My name is Ben, I'm from the Central Coast NSW Australia.  I'm a member of metal work forums (Aust) and Home Machinist (US).  I recently seen a Rotary Beam model produced by a Home machinist member and I followed up the plans for it. Bill L kindly supplied them to me and directed me here.

I've made a couple of Tubal Cains models and a few cannons (non-firing). There not of a great standard but I'm not too fussed, hopefully I'll get better. I'm currently attempting a Double Acting Wobbler from Tubal Cain.  But I think I may have stuffed it. My next project will be a approximately 20 cm high Wobbler then Bill's Beam engine.  I also have a set of Stuart V10 castings which I want to attempt this year.

I have a small garden shed for a workshop. My machines include a Hercus 260 ATM and OLM Milling machine.  I do most of my machining though at work in my spare time (lunch break or after work).

Regard Ben.

Hi Ben,

Welcome to the forum.

I know you said you want to make a big wobbler engine next but this little engine is worth considering as a useful learning project :-

It's fairly easy to build and a great runner - a few guys here have had a go at making one  :)

Peter.

Welcome Ben,
Lots of great help here. I am also in the Central Coast (Terrigal) so we could catch up some day. I am building a boat at the moment, twin cylinder engine and boiler all but finished.
