Nicely done John! It's nice to see an engine displayed in a proper setting.

I think all the superlatives have been used already John. It really is beautiful in every way, the engine and diorama both.

Just caught up with this, John.  Absolutely wonderful, the engine model itself, and the presentation of it in situ.     Dave

Beautiful work as usual John!  I love watching it run and seeing it in the diorama setting really brings it to life.

I'm at a loss for words. I can only echo what everyone else has said.

But I will say, your projects always touch some memories and dreams I've had since I was a kid.

Thank you for sharing. Very enjoyable.

It ages rather well, just those screws in the eccentrics that give the game away ;)

John

I dont often have time to spend offering comments on other peoples work, but you should be very proud of what you are achieving with your models, very impressive indeed.

Thank you gentlemen.

Thank you Jason so much for aging the  photo. I must admit it does age well.

I forgot about those set screws! My bad. I used them when timing the engine - wanting strong firm screws to hold while adjusting the eccentrics.

I should go back and replace them Jason, but now that I have moved on...  ;)

Thanks all,

John

I did replace them Jason.

Polly Model Engineering asked that their name be corrected (typo) in the credits as they would like to direct clients to the video. I have uploadred a corrected video to YouTube.

Cheers..John

I think it is a very nice job too. If I may make so bold, however, and it may be the way it is recorded, but in the video it seems to have a pronounced mechanical knock, which, if it were my proud work, I would want to eliminate.

The knock that developed in the shooting of the video has been on my mind for some time.  :-[

A close investigation revealed a problem I've heard about. The lever on the crankshaft was fastened with only a set screw. Pinning the lever all the way through the crankshaft solved the problem.

You will have to take my word for it, because I'm not remaking the video, but the engine is now running very quietly. You can hear it breathing.  ;)

Cheers...John
