All, thank you all for making this a great place to learn and be inspired. I am sort of retired in Vancouver, Wa, after 30yrs in the U.S. Coast Guard as a mechanic. Still working for them but as a civilian employee now, more time off less travel. I just recently bought a lathe and mill and am having lots of fun learning how to use them properly. This site has been a big help, I have been lurking for a few weeks now. I just completed Elmers number 25. Just a simple wobbler but I can tell you it gave me a real learning experience. Some of the parts are tiny. I was amazed when it ran first try. Can't wait to start a new one, thinking maybe the beam or mill engine.

Welcome to the forum! If the little oscillator runs as good as it looks you've made a very good start!

Welcome Paul.  That is a beautiful first engine.  Most of us started with wobblers as our first build and progressed from there.  You are off to a great start.

Welcome to MEM Paul. I'm a little way south from you in Independence, OR.

Your Elmers #25 looks great! It was the second engine I built after starting on this machining journey a little over a year ago. When I finished it, I solicited ideas for the next engine and ended up building Elmers #43: http://www.modelenginemaker.com/index.php/topic,6181.0.html It was a great next step.

Welcome Paul! I'm glad you found us. We're a very diverse bunch here and I don't think a day goes by I don't learn something.

Hi Paul, that's a very attractive little engine, beautifully finished.  You've made a great start in this absorbing hobby!   Dave
