PMR DRILLING ENGINE
« on: May 12, 2017, 05:45:53 PM »
Just finishing up my PMR Drilling engine.  Can someone help me with what the approximate scale of this engine is. Thinking about adding some guard rails and I want to set them at a correct height.
Thanks

Davis, according to their website it is 1/8th scale. Would love to see pictures of yours.

I missed that in the description.  1/8 scale is 1 1/2" to the foot. So my 6.5 inch flywheel is 4'- 3"  in diameter.
Thanks. Fine tuning parts, photo when assembled.

Will be looking forward to it. I made that one a couple of years back and it's a nice running model.

Sometimes this can be solved by rotating them on the computer. If I preview pictures on my Windows PC and rotate them in the preview window, they will automaticly be shown correct on other programs. I can't make any garanties that this will solve your problem here.

Best wishes

One of the best programs I know for simple image manipulation (e.g. rotating and saving in the new orientation) is Irfanview: http://www.irfanview.com/
That should allow you to do what I think you want.

To my overseas friends Per and DT. Thanks for your comments. The previous photos were taken with my camers(i Phone) rotated so the photo is in landscape position. Looks likes this is the way to do it.

Best regards.

Hello Dave,
Following this thread with interest. I like the large flywheel and the angled bearings.
Beautiful base.

Great looking engine Dave.

I enjoyed seeing you referring to the size of your lumber in term of the size it represents, not what size it actually is. A true modeler.  :)
