Anyone going ???

Going Sunday myself. Just about traffic-free last year.

( Unless, of course, they've made diesels a capital offence by then ...  ::)   )

Hi Dave, I'm driving there from Redditch with three passengers on Friday 12th using lovely petrol at the rate of 25mpg.

.... using lovely petrol at the rate of 25mpg.

You need a 14 year old 2ltr diesel = 56mpg up-hill/down-dale, with bags of torque so you can bring your heavy castings home with the added ability to still burn off boy racers from 70 mph going up long hills (with the castings in the back) :mischief:

Sorry I'm grounded  :( , I am not allowed to any shows for a few months  :'(

Only 56 MPG ??  When I left you t'other Sunday, 174 miles, 3 hrs 22 mins. elapsed,  60.1 MPG.   :D

I wonder what it would have been without all the damn speed limits? Don't think much, if any, of the M3 from Frimley to the M25 is not 50 ? And same for another 14+ mile stretch of the M1.

Thinking of swapping the XC Fozzy out for the petrol XT  on Sept 1.   Won't be 60 mpg then ...  :o maybe 30

Delusions of grandeur     or 'cos I'm worth it' ??

Can't take it with me anyway ...  :old:

Hope this grounding thing is soon over

Dave

I presume thats an allusion to your own car Jo. I can live with 25mpg by my Honda CRV, my annual mileage is low. You can carry lots of castings and 3mtr stock lengths of metal bars in it.

I recon Andy's 25mpg is good going, I don't get that out of the Impreza and that is on V-power at an extra 10p or so a litre. ;)

Those that are going make sure you take your cameras :)

That's a monster car Andy, I could get lots of model engines and castings in that  ;D.... My old 206SW Pug did a vast 2K miles last year and the way this year is going I can't see the mileage being high this year either. Keep thinking it should be replaced but really the engine has only just run in.

No GMES show, no Bristol Show.... I should be allowed out again for the Midlands show  :-\

I will be going to Doncaster on the Saturday in my 4WD Skoda Yeti petrol 1.8 TSI, it cruises on the motorway at an average of 30mpg, but it goes like an Audi TT when you need it to.  ;D

Hi Jo, not really a monster it takes up less space than my previous Mondeo Estate.
Phil - interesting to hear the mpg of your Petrol powered Skoda which is probably much younger than my eleven year old CRV with 110,000 recorded miles. I can get almost 30 to the gallon if I'm really careful. However, the accelleration of my CRV is sluggish  :old:

I went on Sunday last year with a pre-paid online chitty and queued about 10 seconds.

That I can tolerate.

10 minutes I won't ...

No telling what you might catch in 10 minutes ...

I'm going up to the show on Saturday, please God stop me buying castings to build another big model!!

If anybody finds me buying big castings then shoot me, I'm only making things I can pick up now
