Air powered engine with cam and valves
« on: February 24, 2017, 10:37:07 PM »
This was my first air engine that I decided to try a camshaft and valves rather than just the simple rotary valve on the crankshaft. Crankcase started out as 2 1/2 inch round bar. There is a air passage going through the thick walled crankcase and is oringed to the back of gas tank and on to the carb and into the engine. Gas tank was to be larger and higher but was a case of only material I had on hand.     Gary

Very smooth running engine, congratulations.

Beautiful work, sounds nice, too.  Has a nice pop to it.

Nice job! And the flywheel hardly looks like it's turning. Speaks to the accuracy.

Thanks guys. Zee said you can barely tell the flywheel is rotating. After posting the vid I looked at it again and thought I should have put something on the flywheel to show that it is actually rotating. I should have also left the cam cover off to show what was going on inside.
