Thanks Bill .
As written the governor is an after thought , I sold this engine and the new owner was surprised that I didn't make the governor to make the project complete ,well I want to keep him happy so I decided to make it for him .My poor health forced the sale , but another item is that this engine is just too heavy to take to shows .

Working on the cooling water tank for the Reid , the tank is aluminum with oak strips to make it look like a wooden tank .I tried an all wood tank but it was a disaster .
The rods are used to secure the wood .

I like that Jeff. To the casual observer it will definitely appear to be an all wood tank. Hoe did you form the metal rings?

Thanks Bill ,
The rods were bent around a piece of scrap steel then threaded 5-40 , it was difficult to get a smooth bend . If I ever do this again I'll use smaller rod , these are too big .
I plan to have 5 bands when finished .Jeff

5 bands installed , now I'll bead blast the lugs , trim the rods and sand ,stain and clear the wood . All in all this worked well.

All the parts for the governor are now finished and fit, ready for finial paint and mounting to the engine . The  dummy glands are made and soldered to the mixer .

Another shot of of the mixer with the linkages installed . A lot of work went into the governor , it would have been worth it if it actually did something .

After a long break from this engine I'm just a few steps away to see if it will run , Excuse the mess in the shop.
