Band Saw Blades
« on: March 26, 2017, 06:17:45 PM »
I am overhauling my 14" Delta bandsaw.   It has the back gears for cutting steel ect.    Kinda rare.

In any event I put new tires and guides on it, and I opened up a blade and put it on and found it to be too long

I need 93 1/2" blades, and I ordered 96" blades....

I have two new Starrett skip tooth 3/8 blades of I think 13 or 15 tooth pitch

First person to give me $20 plus shipping for the pair gets them    Never used.

Sounds like a realy nice deal but my saw taks a 133-136" blade.
If you don't get any takers I can cut the blades back and re-weld them.  I'm not that far from you.

Dave I converted my 14" bandsaw to metal cutting years back. I added roller bearing from Rockler a fence and a VFD. It does take a 93 1/2" blade. I also put a carbide blade on it to cut steel and brass. It cuts it like butter but I run it at full speed to cut metal with. The blade is also from Rockler and is expensive but worth the time it saves cutting steel and does last as long as you don't cut aluminum with it.

Don...you're cutting steel at 3000 FPM?     :o

The back gear brings it down to 40-325 fpm

My Rockwell 28-300 has two sets of sheaved pulleys to switch between wood and metal.  I did a lookup and it seems mine also takes 93.5" blades.  No help for you I'm afraid.
