Two-strokes remind me of the reed valve that some of them use to stop blow-back through the carb.  This might be easier to organise than the Tesla valve.

Indeed, i guess there's no reason to reinvent the wheel with a tesla valve. i don't think a reed valve could handle exhaust though. I don't see the advantage in using a reed valve because all you are doing is moving the valve outside the cylinder.
2 stroke engines have been perfected for a long time now.
