Hello:

New Member, have built several things but nothing as small as a model engine, was into RC Airplanes but had to give up because of eyesight the last thing I built was a stump grinder for my tractor (finished about a month ago and boy am I'm glad it's done) going to build the Webster Engine first, my shop has a 9 X 20 lathe and a Pilgrim mill (Bridge Clone). I've upgraded the lathe, and VFD drive on mill so any help on the Webster would be greatly appreciated it's always good to see how someone else has done a project.

Thanks For Letting Me Join

Welcome Nextofkin.  :hi: This is a great place to hang out and learn.

If you google  "Webster Model Engine" you should come up with several links on it's construction. I hope you'll consider doing a build thread here on MEM when you get started.

Welcome to the Forum - Hope you find this to be a cool place to hang out. Don't forget pictures and food comments are almost a necessity.

Hi and welcome to the forum. The Webster is a great little engine to build as a first project. Brian Rupnow, who is member of Model Engine Maker, did an excellent stage by stage report on the building of his Webster on another site, which I found really helpful to follow when building mine. The link is:

I'm trying to find the plans for this engine, but have been running into a dead end.

Hi,
I have been having a trawl of the internet for you, but all references to Joe Webster and his engine plans seem to have vanished. I have no idea why they have been removed or whether any other forum members know anything about Joe.
Sorry I can't be more help.

Jim: Mr. Webster's site seems to have disappeared. The plans are available through John Tom site though.

....so any help on the Webster would be greatly appreciated it's always good to see how someone else has done a project.

Nextofkin: Welcome to the site. As a new builder my first, and so far only, engine is a Webster. There is a build log on this site. As a new builder the log has the questions I ran into during the build.

I also need to get back to building things I can lift. It makes life so much more enjoyable.

Look forward to your build log on the Webster.

Thanks.

Hugh

Just found this site which has plans for various engines including the Webster.

http://www.john-tom.com/html/ICEngines.html

The Webster is shown as "Four Stroke Petrol Engine Plans" and there is a zip file to download which includes pdf and Autocad DXF files.

Should be what you are looking for.
