As they say Dave, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.   Though I used Teflon rod for the spark plug insulator, I still had no experience with Corian, so wanted to give it a try and see how it cuts and machines. So far I like it.

I've been out for bit. Just catching up (sort of).

It looks like you're real close. Can't wait for the video.

Hey Bill

I didn't get a chance to comment on the latest family shot; wow the fit and finish are great!
Very nice work.

Thanks for checking in Zee and Dave. This evening I got the top of the base frame milled out to accept the piece of corian. A couple of pictures of the process in photos 1 & 2 below. Photo 3 shows the corian in place and I am happy with the fit. The last photo shows the engine sitting on the base approximately as it will be. Still some work to do on the corian now....mounting holes for attaching the engine and some milling on the bottom of it so the CDI enclosure will fit and still be flush with the bottom of the base frame.

I'm liking the looks of this Bill. I'll be interested to see how you fit the CDI into the base.

Bill how are you attaching your flywheels to the crankshaft?  Did you use setscrews like Arv did or did you use some type of taper lock?

Bob, I am still deciding on that. The setscrew is the obvious choice and the flywheel bores are tight enough that the setscrews shouldn't pull them or induce any wobble.  Given the dimensions I made the crankshaft extensions (per Georges plans), I don't think there is enough room side to side for the addition of taper locks without looking odd. What are your thoughts??
