I wasn't taking a swipe at you Ken - those plans were well worth a point!

Tel, I wasn't taking any offence at all, merely seeking clarity on the karma system and the appropriateness of statements like "they aint free, they'll cost'ee a karma point" which is admittedly trolling for points - but there is obviously no obligation.

Regards,

I would prefer the whole karma thing be dumped.  After seeing the abuse it took on the other place, with one particular
member soliciting karma for every little thing he did, I don't see the good of the whole thing.  It seems to be simply
bragging rights for certain folks, and if any of us deserve bragging rights, let it be simply from the quality of work we show
here.  If we are doing something that is appreciated by others, the replies in your threads should be enough.  If one is
here with a mind to be "rewarded" by some kind of points system, I think they are here for the wrong reason.

I turned Karma on at the end of the first day.

This was because, if used correctly, that is if someone does an outstanding post and you really enjoyed it, you awarded a point.

Because of complaints, it is now turned off, and will NOT be reinstated.

Umm.... I've just applauded both you and Dean, seems like it still is operational.

That's done the trick, me and my usual haste to post.  :P

Good decision BTW, less chasing of "points" and more sharing of info and knowledge.

Good decision.  Gold stars are something for kindergarten.

Incidentally, Dean, that member you spoke of, soliciting karma for every little thing he did, has been whining away in several posts over there about getting his karma back.  It's actually kind of embarrassing to watch.

I'm retired and idle minds are the devils playground.  ;D

Every Friday is poets day.

Hint.............. the the last 3 letters of POETS represent early tomorrow's Saturday  ;)
