Tender mounted Gong on early British locomotive
« on: February 07, 2017, 08:48:16 AM »
Bit of a long shot, this, but does any member have any info about the mechanism of the sort of gong or bell , an "Edwards Communicator Gong" as I believe it was called, like the example shown on the tender side in the attached photo?

The design for the 5" gauge LC&D Rly. loco, "Asia" , designed ( the model) by Len Saxby, marketed by Reeves, probably includes details of this gong, as Mr Saxby's medal winning model of Asia has the bell included. If any member has the drawings for that model, I would be grateful if they could give me some information.  At a later time, I would like to make this gong device to help complete a model, built by a friend,  of the "Asia" loco, but I don't have any drawings for the loco available to me.

Thanks, Dave
