South Bend Tailstock info needed... FOUND!!
« on: January 27, 2017, 10:39:10 PM »
A fellow on another board found one and posted it for me!! :whoohoo:

Thanks,
Pete

I'm looking for the parts diagram for the hand lever tail stock used on 9" and 10" machines. This is NOT the tail stock with the turret built in on the front but the tail stock with the hand lever mechanism AND the hand wheel on the back of the tail stock. I don't even know the part number or correct name!!

I've been all over this site, Steve Well site, Google etc. but cannot find an exploded diagram, or any diagram, for this hand lever tail stock.

What I'm specifically wanting to know is how this tail stock ejects a tool from the MT2 socket. I know there is no slot for using a wedge. That slot is not present on the tail stock in question. I need to know how the hand wheel operates in conjunction with the lever. I have pictures of the assembled tail stock but they give no clue how this works.

If you have one of these tail stocks and would be willing to provide a functional description and photos of it disassembled that would most likely answer my questions.

Any and all assistance appreciated!!!

Thanks,
Pete
