Part needed for Starrett 232 RL micrometer....
« on: January 24, 2017, 03:13:35 AM »
Before I tackle Starrett and their new 3D parts mess, I'll ask here:

I need the spindle lock assy for a #232RL micrometer. That's the little 1/2" one and has the .200" spindle.

Thanks!
Pete

I can't help you with your part Pete, but I've got to say, if I ever have an extra $179.53 (including free shipping), I'm going to have me one of those 1/2" micrometers!  :naughty:

Can't help with the part Pete, but hope you find it. It's a sweet little mic.  Jim, save up those pennies, you won't be disappointed!!

Pete-

When I was a calibration tech 25 years ago I use to get parts through the local industrial suppliers.  I'd call them, they would fax me a schematic of the tool in question, and I would call them back with the part number.  Also, at that time, Starrett would allow individuals to purchase parts once every six months.  I'm sure things have changed dramatically.

That being said, I would think that if you contacted Starrett and gave them the model number you could purchase the lock assembly from them directly.
