Not only new to the forum but new to engineering and engine making too! Have gone and purchased an old myford lathe to which I'm getting to grips with. My passion/life is motorcycles. My aim is to get to grips with a lathe and practice making some of the smaller model engines such as the little demon V8 which I love the look and sound of and hopefully progress from there.

 :hi:

If you are new to making swarf you may wish to choose a couple of simple engines before you make a v8

Welcome Rutterc85......

Start with something a bit more simple.   Getting to grips with the lathe and mill is labor and time intensive...there's a lot to learn.    But I can tell you this, no better place to start learning it than here.    What have you got for equipment Rutterc85?
