Northwest uk
« on: January 02, 2017, 11:28:17 AM »
Hi
I'm robbie. I live in the northwest uk. I'm 36 and work full time as a machinist. Clearly I have an interest in model engineering. IC engine casting sets are my main interest along with engines from bar stock and a few steam engines.
My current projects howell v4 and les chenery anzani.

Wishing all members a good 2017

Robbie

Hi Robbie,

Welcome to the forum. You'll find this to be a great asset to your interests

Your situation brought a wry smile as I began my machining career at much the same age as you - I envy you for the time you have ahead in such an environment but then I think I'd still prefer to be as I am - retired  ;)

Good luck with all your projects over the coming years

Regards - Ramon

Hi Robbie - sorry for the very delayed welcome... I only just saw your username on a different post...

Welcome aboard!

Whereabouts in the Wirral are you? I'm over on the Dock Road in Birkenhead, got a half-mothballed workshop since I moved earlier in the year, trying to get it all shipshape now...

Cheers!
Ade.

Hi Robbie,

I remember the Odyssey centre, there used to be a computer shop in there I'd buy bits from, that was nearly 20 years ago now... It's been demolished now, I presume yet another scrap yard will take it's place.

If you ever fancy a cuppa and a chinwag, and you're passing by, I'm in a shed on the Stone Manganese site, 50yds past McKenna's Buildings if you're coming in from the Gorsey lane/Duke St. lights direction. Only generally there evenings & weekends though, due to a rather annoying full-time job getting in the way...

Cheers!
Ade.
