That almost looks like the teflon packing material available at the hardward as opposed to machined teflon rings.  What do you use on the compound Dave?

What a beautiful set-up Dave....boat, engine, boathouse....I recall it now from another forum too.  Aside from steaming it up and watching over it I can only imagine how relaxing it must be to be out on the water with it!!!  Thanks for re-sharing the photos.

Might not be so relaxing. If I recall correctly...he's at flank speed.

Yeah, I love that steam trike.  I started work on something similar some months back, but got hung up on the boiler.  I built the engine and have most of the RC mechanical parts, including the wheels and differential.  If I can ever get the boiler built, I'd like to finish it.

Just got around to viewing the vid, interesting build. IMHO there seems to be a miss match between the all terrain chassis and the speed/performance being delivered by the oscillating engine. I was expecting to see it hairing around, jumping off curbs and climbing walls :LittleDevil:.

All it would need is the triple oscillators upgrading to something like a twin, or even better a compound, slide valve engine and it would have that missing umph to show "battery powered toys" a thing or two :naughty:.

Sounds like a good idea Jo. Have you got any links to your suggested engine types as I know less than nothing about steam engines! :o
