New member fron Front Royal, VA
« on: December 28, 2016, 07:59:58 PM »
I originally registered about a year ago and have been following along with many of you since then.  I worked as a machinist apprentice for a year after high school, spent 10 years in the US Navy, then worked in the electronics field until I retired 4 years ago.  I have always had a woodworking shop, added welding after I retired, then made the mistake of attending the last 2 Cabin Fever shows.  Over the last year I have added machinist tools to my shop and just finished my first engine, a PMR #1.  I look forward to becoming more active on the forum now that I have actually finished an engine.  I will post pictures of my shop and a video of the PMR #1 running if I can figure out how to post a video.  I look forward to seeing some of you at the CF show in 2 weeks.

Hi Jon,
Welcome to the Forum!

Unfortunately, I won't be at Cabin Fever to meet you in person, but several other forum members will likely be there.  Enjoy the show!

Welcome Jon. Glad to have you with us. The PMR #1 is a great engine and I look forward to seeing yours. You should find a tutorial on linking to videos here: http://www.modelenginemaker.com/index.php/topic,95.0.html

Welcome to the MEM forum!  I have not been too active here - I am more involved with electric motors and EVs and other electronics projects.  :zap:

I've been to Front Royal several times. In 1971 I went on a canoe trip on the Shenandoah from Luray to Front Royal, and I have stayed in the "Glass House" (a PATC cabin) within hiking distance of Signal Knob. I plan to attend Cabin Fever again this year. If you will be passing through the Baltimore area we could meet up and share driving.

Welcome to the forum.  I was in Front Royal for the first time when I saw the 611, The Queen of Steam.  She was under power with 23 passenger cars, on her way Manassas.
