Hi

Thanks cnr6400 and Terry

Today I took the loco outside and prepared it for firing up on steam. Set it up on the rolling road.

Fill the boiler. Fill the side tanks. Fill the hydrostatic lubricator. Fill the drip feed lubricator. Oil round the axle boxes and motion.

Light a fire.

And in reverse

Cheers

Rich

Rich, Your Conway is running great a credit to your perseverance with those little problems that you had along the way.

Hi

Thanks Chris, John, Michael, Per and Terry

Yes it was a good day to see it running on steam.  ;D

The lubricator seemed to work well. At the end of the running period I opened the drain valve and out came clear water followed by hot oil

I have got a steam leak in the pipe though which should be an easy fix

Cheers

Rich

Hi

Well Conway is nearing completion. There are a few little jobs that need tinkering with but for the most part its complete.

The next big job is to get it down to our club and have the boiler inspector do the steam test and then hopefully take it for a run around the track.

Unfortunately with circumstances being what they are that may be some time away, possibly towards the end of the year.

So today I have decided to have a clear out and make way for a new project.

I have a bench full of bits for Conway that are now surplus to requirements. Some are duplicated parts, some are parts that have been upgraded or modified etc. The following video is a brief description

Its a shame to just dump it all so I would like to offer it all free to anybody that fancies building this loco. It would of course have to be collection only due to the size and weight or arrange your own courier

Cheers

Rich

Splendid  :praise2:  :praise2:  :wine1:

I hope you don't have to wait too long for your club to reopen.
Best regards
