Hugh,

My deepest sympathies to you and your family in your loss and the sad times leading up to it.

From one of those silently in the background admiring your fabulous work, but thinking of you more personally at this time.

Progress on the engine project has been very slow. In addition to the aftermath of my son's death, a tornado ripped through my yard recently. Many large trees were toppled. Half of one large tree entered the sun porch of the house doing extensive damage. I had to prepare drawings for the town building department before they would issue a building permit for the repairs. I finally got the permit with the drawings a 'approved'. I was surprised they had no questions or changes about the drawings. Dealing with them, contractors and insurance people is keeping me busy.

I am doing a redesign of the governor, The tapered grooves that the balls ride in were too shallow. The balls would not return toward the center from the squeeze. I must make the angle of the grooves steeper, It is a complicated set up on the mill. Many angles involved and the grooves must be well centered and symmetrical, matching on the two plates.
All motions that should not move are either clamped or have a hard stop. Photos of the setup are attached.

Hugh
