Hi Dave,

A beautiful job.

How do you intend to fire it?  And what is your plan for this boiler?  Is it perhaps for a boat?

Looks great Dave, any chance we can see it powering something once the wood cladding is complete ?

Best bet for the video is to upload it to someplace like YouTube, and post the link here. Looking forward to seeing it all go!

I suspect it will run your beam engine very well while you work out how to build a boat which it is ideal for.  But that will also involve another engine, so why not a nice little display with the beam engine and a Tee piece with shut off valves and space so you can add your new engine when it is ready for some steam?

And perhaps a balsa boat or two to give you the general idea of boat construction while you find a suitable design to build for your steam plant?  Plenty of designs in Model Boats Magazineto get you started.

I look forward to seeing your future build logs.

Hi Dave

Looking at the flame you have there I wish the one I have made for the Wide a Wake boiler burnt with such a nice blue cone as that - it looks good to me but then apart from that one I have no previous experience. As a matter of interest what jet size are you using? I note too you have some good sized secondary air inlets - are you getting much carbon in your flue as that's another problem with mine.

FWIW It takes about 30 mins from cold to reach steam with mine - just under 3 litres.

Regards - Ramon

thanks steamer. ramon the jet is a no5 from poly models, i tried a few different ones but found the no5 the best. there is a bit off black on the tubes, but i think its with messing about with diff jets.
cheers dave.
going to try it on my beam engine today, see how it goes.

That's a good looking setup.  I hope that my first boiler looks as good.

Nicely done!!!    My first runs rarely have a condenser set up and you can't see the engine running from the cloud of exhaust steam....you are far more patient than I!....

That was a very good first run! A little fine tuning and getting to know its sounds, and you are there!

Excellent!
