 :hi: Knapper,

Can you tell us a bit more about your interest in model engines. Have you made any?

Welcome to MEM Knapper.

Yes, as Jo said, please tell us about your interests and where you're at in your machining journey. Me.....I'm pretty new at all this and am having a wonderful time...........both in learning machining and in hanging out with the knowledgable, helpful and supportive folks here on MEM.

Thank you Jo. I have a mostly completed Stuart #1 - probably will never finish it. My interests tend to revolve around the history of technology. I'm accomplished in flintknapping, forging and machining. I'm 68 and have a slower, more measured involvement these days. I bought a Myford Super7 forty years ago - one of the best acquisitions I ever made. I have a Taig mill and discovered this site last night when I saw Kim's post on adding a DRO. That's my next project. Over the years I acquired several casting kits - Lady Stephanie beam engine, Dividing and Graduating head and Universal Pillartool by George Thomas. They are still in boxes and I don't think I'll ever build them. I also have a mostly built Don Young Rail Motor - frame, cylinders, boiler, etc. I would consider parting with these, if anyone is interested. I live in Seattle.

Best,
Geoff

A Stuart No 1  8) that is one I would like to add to the meagre retirement collection.

The Pillar Tool (UPT) is an excellent gadget, everyone needs one. Lady S is not for the faint hearted there are some fiddly bits on her.
