Yes I do Dave, I just don't remember which ones I have. I will have to go to my office to check them and will get back to you.

YUK

I figuire you need a 17 or a 34 hole plate, and a 31 hole plate.....to do a 34 and 31 tooth count gear.

31 teeth

72/31 =2.322581      using a 31 hole plate it would be 2 turns and 10 holes

34 teeth

72/34 = 2.117647    using a 34 hole plate it would be 2 turns and 4 holes

Using a 17 hole plate it would be 2 turns and 2 holes.

You could go by the rotary tabel dial if you map out the turns ......I wrote a program to do that once...so Did Marv

Want me to dig it up?

72/17 = 4 & 4/17

i.e., 4 turns and 4 holes on the 17 hole plate.

For 17 teeth Marv....not 34...

72/34 = 2.117 turns per tooth

OK

Here you go.    I rewrote my spreadsheet for rotary tables.  It is attached below.

Let me explain how it works    Here' a screen dump of the spreadsheet in excel

ONLY alter the numbers in yellow.

In this example, I've inputted a index of 6 positions and a rotary table ration of 72/1.   This would match your table Don.

The spreadsheet shows the degrees, minutes and seconds for each index position, and to the right, shows the absolute position of the rotary table crank to get to each position from the ZERO or start position.

The first index is 12 full revolutions of the crank
The next index is 24 full revolutions of the crank......ect.

Enter the number of index positions required and follow the crank colum until it gets to 72 full turns or 360 degrees    The spreadsheet computes 100 positions automatically...but you know enough to stop when you get all the way around I think.

In this case just stop at 6 positions or 72 crank rotations.

So Don , in the case of the 31 tooth gear,  enter 31 in the number of index positions box, and 72 in the rotary table gear ratio box

Print out the output and hang it at the mill.    Then one line at a time follow the chart.  Cross out the line you completed with a pen when it's done.

When you get to 72 turns...your done.
