2016 Midlands Show
« on: September 29, 2016, 08:47:35 AM »
The Midlands show is only two weeks away  :o I was just wondering who else is going?

I will be going on the Friday again. Does any one want to meet up like we did last year?

There looks to be lots of traders going to the show  8)

Hi Jo,

I shall be going for the Thursday afternoon and Friday morning so gladly meet up and perhaps even ask a couple of questions about the new casting kit I prised from your collection .

Blackgates do show the single version as a kit and I shall be writing to them for the cost and availability of the trunk guides as well some of the other pieces to give me an idea of overall costs.

Shall we meet at the cafeteria again like last year  :DrinkPint:?

I shall be going for the Thursday afternoon and Friday morning

Thursday AND Friday so you are likely to beat me to any casting sets  :( I will just have to accept that I am having another two delivered this weekend but won't be allowed to have more than a little fondle as they have to go away until Xmas

I would phone Blackgates, they are no doubt already looking to pack for the show and they may need a little bit of time to go through the Clarkson stuff to see if they can find the bits you may want to buy.

As you are going for the morning say 11:30 around the Caff?  :)

Jo,

11:30 around the cafe area will be fine and then I can start driving back home around 2pm and try to avoid the worst of the traffic going south.

I shall try to leave you some castings, assuming I can find some, though don't think you are referring to the Stuart sets

Thursday or possibly Friday.  I think I should be elsewhere on the Friday, but for the life of me I cant remember where.

Hoping Machine DRO will have some offers on as will need some scales for the new to me Super 7.  The scales on my ML7 are not quite right for the new machine.  Cross-slide scale too short and carriage scale is glass but I want to move to the smaller section magnetic so as to be able to fit the taper turning attachment it came with.

They did not have any deals at the ME show but they were not taking any money either from what I saw so you may be lucky if you take some cash to flash  ;)

Sorry based on the poor take up of cakes last year I am not planning on taking any this year, they take up too much casting space :disappointed:

Hoping Machine DRO will have some offers on

However if you visit the right ME forums you will find a Discount code that will allow you to make savings on items ordered and then collected at the show :)

You mean the MIDCOL code? You have to order the stuff and select for collection before the show to get your 5% discount.

Jo

Edit: actually if you use the code MEW15 on their website you will get a 15% discount

I have been sent through notification that the road works on the way to the show near the M40 Junction 12 is still on going :(

It is now possible to get on/off from the South this year but they are suggesting rather than driving past Aston Martin and Jaguar Land Rover we:

1 Turn right from the M40 and head towards Bishops Itchington (B4451)
2 After 2 miles turn left at the small roundabout up Plough Lane for 1.2miles
3 Turn right up Bush Heath Road to Harbury.
4 At the first junction continue straight on to the next junction turning left on to the A425 to Lemington Spa.
5 The exhibition carpark will be found on the right after approx. 1.3 miles.

I had a quick scan on Google maps and those roads look good

But you will have to mess around if you are coming from the north and possibly come off the M40 at Junction 14 !!!

Err .. why would anyone coming from the North be on the M40? They've not moved it have they?  :headscratch:

I'll do M1(S), M69, A46, ... Fosse Way.

They're not 'half-way'. They're 'half-baked'.   ;D

I'll be there on Friday Jo, driving from Redditch on the A4189, much less bother than the M42/M40.
