collets

Hi all

Just a simple question before I go checking sizes on OEM; I have a set of ER25 collets, which only go to 16mm, if I buy 1 x 19 mm collet from the ER32 set will the tapers match up or are they completely different tapers...?

Hi George,
 ER 32 collets are a lot bigger than ER 25's. There's no way a ER 32 will fit into a ER25 collet chuck. The 25 or 32 refers to the diameter of the big end. Taper wise without looking it up they are approx the same.

As said the ER 32 are 7mm larger dia at teh end than ER25. Tapers are the same 16deg and 30deg. Sizes below

ER 25 collets are available up to 20mm as an oversize.

I do use them sometimes but carefully  they are very thin.

18 and 20mm are available. I have a 20mm ER25 which I use quite a lot without any problems so far.

Hi Roger, 19 mm is available also. I have found it at "Alles Gute Online", I think you know this shop already.
