My Ikea Desk Machine shop
« on: July 25, 2016, 04:44:03 PM »
After couple years of planning and saving for gear its time for me to start using this stuff.

Spent the weekend finding all the bits and pieces I have collected over the years.

I started laying out a Embers Wobbler engine

Again I thank this site for the motivation to get working on these machines.

 8) That's a nice compact workshop.

Are you allowed to leave it out at the end of play time  :)

Isn't it great how you can pack a sherline based workshop onto a table? Mine started out looking a lot like that. Is that a second lathe off to the right on the other table?

Nothing has to be put away now, in fact its bolted to the table just so it can't be put away.  I tend to put stuff on the shelf and forget to use it.  This way its out in the open reminding me that its there.

Yes that is my Taig.  Its needs a motor.  It fully tooled up, but mostly gets used for Pen turning.  I will be looking at getting it back up and running this fall.  Also under the Taig is a CNC router table.  Which will eventually be setup behind the Ikea Desk. But first I want to use the Sherline tools.  I find I hope from Projects to Projects and never really finish anything.  One things at a time is what I am going to try.

Its amazing what you can fit into small spaces and still make engines :)
