Ransome & May Horizontal Mill Engine
« on: July 07, 2016, 11:41:19 PM »
I am considering this kit, either for myself, or probably as a gift for a fellow model engineer. Does anyone out there have experience with this kit? Have you built one? Any major pitfalls with it?

Any and all help appreciated.

Tom

PS ... It is the Hemmingway kit.

Here is a direct link to the Hemmingway page for this engine.  http://www.hemingwaykits.com/acatalog/Ransome___May_Horizontal_Mill_Engine___G_K_King.html

Nice looking engine though I am not familiar with it.

PM Chris ( Modelsteam) he does not post much but has made most of the Hemmingway engines. The photos and videos on their site are his engines.

This is his engine at the Guildford show

I have ordered the plans for this kit so I can see what is involved in building it. I might have a go at doing one from bar stock.
