Shop Gnome
« on: July 10, 2016, 10:26:41 PM »
Not being able to find some small parts, I feared the worst.  I set up a high speed camera in the shop with various sensors and finally found the problem.  Can anyone help identify this type of shop gnome and what to do about it?

Your workshop is too tidy. Make some mess and it might keep them away. However it is likely that the Mess loving gnomes might move in and then you would be no better off.  :insane:

It's Chris. That's how he gets so much 'done'.
His 'helper' gnomes are taking parts from others and giving them to him so he can claim them as 'his' work.
It's obvious, no? How can he get so much done when he's off playing in the pool with his subs? Or making mint chocolate cookies?
Yeah it's Chris's gnomes.
You may sue me Chris but I have proof. I sent my own gnomes and got video.
With audio.  :lolb:

The little SOBs hid an 11/64" drill bit from me today :hammerbash:. I looked and looked  (actually did accomplish some cleaning ) to no avail.  It had rolled off the vice during the counter sinking operation and upon hearing a faint giggle it was revealed under a DRO cable.  Sneaky little devils,  they are

If you leave a steady supply, they get friendly and helpful, making parts for you sometimes. Though the sounds from the parties gets annoying...

Yes....these little folk seem to be everywhere in the dark hours & seem to be always ready & helpful to tidy up........

This bloke has hidden a 9" angle grinder and a 5 gallon drum of steam oil in this lot  :lolb: whilst he appears to be happy showing off his latest tube work :wine1:

It's good to see them get caught on camera.
The worse ones are the 'no-see-ums'.

While I haven't caught them...I know some of their names...
There's Chris, and Eric, and Bill, and Stan, and Chuck, and Bob, and Jim, and Marv, and Arnold, even Jo!, and Jason...

I suspect there's one named Zee and if I ever catch him (or her)...

I probably forgot a few but they'll make themselves known, no doubt.
