The ASM Heat Treating Society's Guide is available (FREE) for iPhone, iPad and Android.
Must have every ferrous alloy every made with very detailed heat treating data. Sorry, nothing in it about "Heat to roughly this color then dunk it in used motor oil"

iPhone/iPad link here.

I have been heat treating a lot lately.  After being outside in 90+ heat a cool shower is good for my temper.   :old:

Hi Stan,

Nice app. There is one on aluminum alloys from the same author that is good and free, also.

I've downloaded mine Vern;  a wealth of information . KVOM,  it has been really nice and steamy down South lately,  we're getting beat with thunderstorms and rain and it's still in the mid 90s,  pattern won't seem to break
