Looks good Jon, did you brush paint it ?

I've used Humbrol paints with an airbrush in the past but get mixed results and thought about trying to brush paint or use aerosol cans next time.

Yes it's just 2 x primer sprayed.
2 x Humbrol French blue and some Hamerite smooth black I had in a tin brushed.

Next a boiler, than a lathe etc for it to drive (it will not be of J.L.s standard though  ::) )

I love the blue Jon. It certainly makes the bright metalwork stand out too.  Well done.

Jon,

Having completed a S50 & D10 (currently on with a compound twin, albeit slowly ) I have also have been considering a suitable boiler. Will be very interested in what you decide upon and the route you follow.

Yes, a larger horizontal ? or a smaller simple vertical?
It depends what materials I find in the scrap yard. I may buy a bit of 3" copper tube and go from there.
I have loads of PB for bushes and ordinary bronze bar for fittings.
I may go the way of MyfordBoy on Youtube.

Update:
I made a little lathe from scrap for the engine to drive, I shall also make a layshaft on standards for the belt runs.
