Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and well wishes!    We got this awesome opportunity, by invitation only, to get a ride in the Metlife Blimp  "Snoopy 1".   It was a opportunity put forth in cooperation with MetLife, and A cancer patient outreach program "Sherry's house".      All the money in the world can't buy you a ride on this blimp.   They charge 1 million a day to the TV stations for camera work with it.   It must be by invitation only!    The are only 28 airships of any kind in the world...so this was  a rare occasion!

William being a sibling, was offered the ride and went as well....     Here's how you take off with an airship....Ava was riding "Shotgun"

They had a blast!....I have to download their camera's.....very cool!

Ava jumped off and said  "That was freakin Awesome!"     That'll do!

Control system is bizarre!    Not anything you'd expect, but very traditional for airships apparently.....

Great opportunity for the kids for sure. One they won't forget either. Years ago, my dad's company represented Goodyear and occasionally they would invite distributors guests or family members for rides in the Atlanta area. As I recall, in addition to the rudders and elevators which have little  effect at slow speeds, there was a system of pumps which pumped water to ballast tanks fore and aft to change the attitude of the airship. Ava is right, its quite a ride !!

First : Memories no one will forget
Second : Those Piper kids are pretty special  and we should all be proud that they are in "our family " :NotWorthy: :praise2: :NotWorthy:.

Took a family weekend away!     Went to see Tommy Emmanuel live, and got to do the whole meet and greet thing.   A gentlemen, and the best guitarist in the world...and I don't say that lightly....His recorded music and video doesn't even come close to doing him justice live......

.... a little taste....

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pC6m3A0ve3A" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pC6m3A0ve3A</a>

I've seen them all in concert....NOBODY could do what I saw last night....totally blown away.

It's good to get away Dave. Even better if it's a family event. Thanks for sharing the video too.
