« on: May 09, 2016, 07:00:59 PM »
Hi
I am starting to adjust the cams to time the engine. The diagram of the timing dose not make it clear where the top and bottom dead centres are ,could someone help with this information and any tips to make the setting up easy will be much appreciated.

Copy the valve timing diagram and stick it onto the end of the crankshaft on the cam side of the engine. With the piston nearest the head eg TDC the "IDC" on the diagram should be in the 9 o'clock position.

Now as you turn the engine over set the cams so the valves open and close as the EO, EC. IO and IC pass the same 9 oclock position.

The IDC mark will pass two TDCs for one full 4 stroke cycle
