Hello from Doncaster East riding UK
« on: May 04, 2016, 08:31:26 PM »
Hi I am Aleck from Doncaster East riding UK.  just joined and this is my first post, just been reading about a council in UK banning steam models from their boating pond, as they are dangerous untested homemade and high pressure. every one I know who has a steamer spent a lot of time expertise making his model and under common market regs jan 2015 all steam boilers have to have a test cert and insurance to use in a public place  that includes all wilesco and mamods ect.

Hi Aleck,

I've given you your own introduction post  ;)

Yes some Councils can be very picky, but if they are untested and without public liability insurance I would agree with them. You should find that presented with the right paperwork that you or your friend should be able to use the boat. Assuming that the Council doesn't ban all boats on the pond  :ShakeHead:

Welcome to the forum.

I'd be very interested in seeing pictures of your boats/ships and engines.
