Based on the effect that Mr Silky's Baby oil had on Zee I feel it is too dangerous to publish any photos of the machine tool porn that happened today ::)

He's still trying  :embarassed: No there are no photos I was enjoying myself too much that the only photo that was taken was by its current owner of my backside from behind me and that is not being made public  :hellno:

All I will say is that it started out a bit stiff but after a couple of hours play it began to feel very nice even its current owner was increasingly of the opinion he didn't really want to sell it .

It's not the photos. It's the imagination.  :naughty:

So I need a space here. To do that I need to move the bench down to the door... which means moving the drawers to another building

An hour later: the bench has moved and the roller skate proved to be able to move the pillar drill. So now I can see how much I have been hording in the corner  :o

I have been told my new machine will arrive on Wednesday. So if you can wait two days  :whoohoo:

As its current owner proved that he did not know how to drive the Newall DRO without referring to the manual  :headscratch: so I felt it was my duty to relieve him of that so that he can buy his latest acquisition a graphical system.

The new machine is three phase  8) so I had to run a new cable. Those of you who were following along last year may recall that I installed a Workshop Gnome home 3 ph distribution and breaker box with six outlets, one of which was spare  ;) This has now had a five core cable run from it to the new socket on the wall.

I know I keep repeating it but 3 ph is very dangerous. So the wiring was done by first disconnecting my rotary converter from the wall (it has a plug and skt to do this). Then starting at the socket wiring that up and checking it was all ok before opening up and connecting to the distribution box. Where ever a cable goes into something it has a gland securing the cable to the plug/socket/frame of the distribution box so that if the cable is pulled the force does not go on the terminals  :hellno: You can also see there is a nice new tail waiting for my new bit of machine but it is not going into that socket before the machine is on the other end.

Back to tidying the workshop  :paranoia:

Jo

You forgot the most important bit with  :zap: the earth wire must be the longest conductor

If the cable does shift it must be the last one to pull out , thus keeping a earth to the last pod oboe moment ,

This also any flexible cable inc your humble 13a plug top look at the inside ( no not the modded ones ) and you will find a space to do that very thing

Connections to dis boards with properly cleated cable or conduit are not so important but a bit of wriggle room on the earth will always help

Thanks Stuart  ;) I did leave the earth wire as the longest wire on all cable ends.

:facepalm2: Its getting the red carpet treatment I have just repainted the wall behind where it is going and its not even here yet :ShakeHead: I must get back to those eccentric straps .
