OK 15 turns of the spindle to 1 turn of the 32 tpi leadscrew

or  about .032/15 = .0021"/ rev

Looks like a change gear banjo to me....but it's not a lathe

spiral milling attachment?   Are you going to cut helical gears on your mill?

Or 15 turns of the leadscrew to 1 turn of the spindle? That sounds like something in the range to make skew gears for an oil pump or such?

So Tel - the next quenstion. Will your contraption offer any tangible advantage over winding a coil on the lathe? Is it that you just want to build your own coil winding machine? Or you'd rather have a one purpose machine you don't have to set up when you want to wind a coil? Just curious!

P.S. Come to think of it the project will allow alot of gratuitous use of the  :zap: emoticon. That's gotta be enough justification  :o
